Welcome to Sri Non Thai Street Food

General Info

Tucked into the lively streets of Leeds city centre, Sri Non Thai Street Food at 39 Great George St, Leeds LS1 3BB, United Kingdom brings the vibrant flavours of Thailand right to the heart of the city. From the moment you step inside, the place has that casual, welcoming energy you’d expect from a proper Thai street food spot. It’s the kind of restaurant where the aroma of spices hits you immediately and makes browsing the menu feel exciting.

The menu leans heavily into authentic Thai comfort food, and that’s exactly what keeps diners coming back. On my visit, the Pad Ka Pao with Pork stood out right away. It arrived sizzling, fragrant with basil and chilli, and packed with bold flavour. It’s the sort of dish that perfectly captures what Thai street cooking is all about-simple ingredients, quick cooking, and big taste.

Another highlight worth mentioning is their Red Curry, which strikes a nice balance between creamy and spicy. The sauce has depth without being overwhelming, and it pairs beautifully with rice. Meanwhile, noodle lovers will appreciate the selection of noodle dishes on the menu. These dishes are generous, comforting, and full of texture, making them ideal for a relaxed dinner in the city.

One dish that truly surprised me was the Hainanese Chicken Rice. It’s delicate yet incredibly satisfying. The chicken is tender, the rice is fragrant, and the accompanying sauces add just the right kick. It’s one of those meals that feels light but still leaves you completely satisfied.

Beyond the food, Sri Non Thai Street Food offers a comfortable and convenient dining experience. The restaurant serves coffee and wine, which makes it easy to settle in for a casual dinner with friends or family. Practical touches like credit card payment options and high chairs also make the place accessible for a wide range of diners. Whether you’re dropping by after work or planning a relaxed evening meal, the setup feels effortless.

The location is another big advantage. Sitting on Great George Street, the restaurant is easy to find and well placed for anyone exploring central Leeds. Reviews from locals often mention the same things I noticed-the friendly atmosphere, the reliable flavours, and a menu that feels both authentic and approachable.

Overall, Sri Non Thai Street Food delivers exactly what you’d hope for from a Thai restaurant: bold flavours, comforting classics, and a welcoming place to enjoy them. It’s the sort of spot that quickly becomes part of your regular Leeds dining rotation once you’ve experienced it.

What customers say?

“ Absolutely delicious Thai food, we tried the Tod Man Pla, Som Tam Thai, Khao Soi Gai & Green curry, all first rate ”

“ Great Thai place near the LGI. Really friendly staff and good menu with some more unusual dishes than a lot of Thai places. I had the prawn and pork dumplings which were great followed by a spicy noodle dish is a tom yam like broth and minced pork, which was delicious. Good value and very filling ”

“ This Thai restaurant never fails to impress me. I've visited twice, and each time I've had an incredibly enjoyable meal. I highly recommend their Super Grilled Pork Neck and Tom Yum Fried Rice. I'll definitely be returning. ”

“ We came here for an early dinner/ late lunch. The staff were kind and friendly and showed us to our table with them, taking our order quickly and promptly. The chicken wings were well cooked, but the seasoning and flavour were were flat. However, the pork belly was amazing and cooked to perfection. Was exactly what we wanted from the meal - would recommend to anyone wanting a quick and tasty Thai meal in the area. ”

“ This place is a hidden little gem of Thai food places. The food is simply amazing!! It's the best Thai restaurant in Leeds. All dishes are absolutely original, good quality, and very tasty. Portions: good size, especially soups. Reasonable prices with good and warm service. ”

“ We picked up two of the lunch box deals here for a quick lunch outside in the sun. £7.95 per box, and you get a drink with it. I ordered the spicy box which is a spicy minced chicken with rice, lots of fresh chilli and Thai basil. It was really tasty and lots of depth of flavour and kind of sweet-spicy. Definitely could have done with a glass of milk with it instead of my Fanta, I like my food really spicy though so it was perfect for me. The portion was just right for a good lunch and the rice was lovely and fluffy. They give you cutlery for the takeaway boxes too so no scrambling for NHS staff room forks if you’re taking it back to work. Probably took about 5 or 6 minutes for the food to be ready - think it might be a little longer of a wait if it’s very busy but I think that’s reasonable. I think the price is just about right. I probably wouldn’t pay any more for the meal deal unless it came with a side or something like that. My husband had the Singapore box which was more savoury and had sliced chicken, and there was a really generous amount of it. If you’re veggie you get the choice of protein so you can choose tofu for most things instead of a meat option. This was our first visit here as we have a regular place we usually go to on Great George Street for Asian style food but I think this might be my new favourite for now! ”

“ At first I came here with my family just after we arrived for uni, and now Sri Non Thai has become my go-to place whenever I miss them. As a uni student, I really appreciate that the prices are student-friendly and the food quality is always great. The pad kra prao (ground beef) has never once disappointed me, and their Thai milk tea is the only one I’ve found that tastes just right – flavourful but not too sweet. Highly recommend this place And the staff who serve me are always so nicee.. ”
